I had this incident of 3 Ring of Death with my Xbox360 Pro.

I was playing Call of Duty4 and suddenly the screen freeze and after checking all the troubleshooting tips online, I decided to get it repair with Microsoft.
Microsoft was having additional 3 years warranty for this problem and would repair freely or replace.
The problem with my console is that I got this console from US when it was not introduced in India and either I can get it repaired with free shipping to and fro from US local address only or get it repaired from Australian center by paying the one way shipping charges.
When I called the local Microsoft center they confirmed me that If I pay the one way shipping charge including the customs duty if any, they would repair it freely and would return it freely to my address in India.
So, I decided to send it through local courier called SM couriers (http://www.smcouriers.com/). They have a understanding with other standard parcel services like UPS,DHL. They charged me 3200/- for the one way shipment to Australia.
I had to remove the hard drive, the faceplate, the wireless adapter, any accessories, and any disc from the disc drive before shipping.
I shipped the console on 3/June/2009 with estimated delivery date of 9/Jun/2009.
